I grew tired of looking at airfare and went ahead and booked Austin through Atlanta on Delta - good points and even better SkyMiles benefits for us, so an extra hour in a plane is worth it. If I lose out on a couple hundred bucks or whatever down the line by not waiting, it's fine since I booked the flight times I wanted and got the seats I wanted as well.

I just re-read the trip info and saw we can dive every day till 10pm from shore. This is fantastic! Not sure I will book boat night dives now, but if you are looking for people for the night dives I can be coerced with an all-inclusive paid post-dive beer.

Just spoke with Al to book our two seats for the whale sharks. Yeah, it's extra, but how many times in your life are you gonna get to swim with whale sharks? :thumb:

We were torn on that vs the Cenotes, and next year if we can make the invasion maybe we'll go for that! I hope you guys have cameras ready :)

Cindy is not ready for caves, even on a guided tour (IMO) so I figured snorkeling with whale sharks the day before departure (no deco issues) was a good fit.

We are leaving on the 8th so we will use the 6th as our last day diving, and since that's fresh water it'll be like a giant gear rinse :cool2:

Some douche, I mean, awesome dude named David and his lady Monica are getting married down there on the 7th so the only diving that day will probably be into some wedding cake :D :D :mooner:

Dannybot and I took the kids and snorkeled with the whale sharks a few years ago. It was FANTASTIC! But wowzee it was expensive!

Hey, Dubi. A college friend and I may be coming out to College Station for the TX A&M vs UF Gators game next Sept. I believe that's the first A&M SEC game as a new member of the conference.

Cool, we booked that one too!

We swam with whale sharks twice before. It's so hard to take photos as you are just in awe of those magnificent creatures!

Dennis (Cardzard) worked out a good deal for the group for both excursions, so that will save some cash for those that a thinking about going on either one.

And as a side note, I would recommend adding 1 or 2 days onto your stay for some extra whatever. Once you're there you might as well make the most of it if you can swing it.

Gimme a PM when the date gets closer. We'd love to get together and celebrate football; we are just too cheap to buy tickets.
