I have not tried that ZEN 8mm port with the 12mm combo yet but it is on my list of things to try. I used an Nauticam NA-EPL3 housing with the 4.33 inch dome when I shot the lens for the UWPmag.com review. I you try the combo let me know what you think.

The 12mm is a very small lens and it would sit so far back in the 9-18 dome port that I think it would vignette.

Hi All,

I have it in my notes that the 12mm does not vignette in the Zen WA-100-EP (i.e.the 9-18 Zen for the Oly housing).

Cheers,
Cp

That is good Chris, so it should also work with the 7-14 Zen dome which is shorter than the 9-18 dome port. I would like to see which of the three ports works best for this excellent lens.

Hi Phil,
How many domes is Zen putting out for the Olympus range, or are you talking for the Nauticam housings?
According to their site, they only produce the standard 100 dome and the 8mm Panasonic fisheye for Olympus housings, unless there are others that you know about?

Hi Bruce,

I'm talking about the Zen ports for the Olympus PEN style housings, i.e. PT-EP01 etc. I don't have it in my sig here on SB, but I'm also the rep for Zen.

We (Zen) currently offer 4 ports for the Olympus PEN style housings:
WA-100-EP: for Olympus 9-18
WA-100-EP714: for Panasonic 7-14
DP-100-EP: for Panasonic 8mm*
FP-100-EP: flat port for Panasonic/Leica 45mm macro

*the DP-100-EP is it's current incarnation has an incompatibility with the PT-EP05L housing; the shroud portion of the button for the lights sticks out and interferes with the dome. Pretty easy to zap that with a dremel tool but not everyone is going to want to do that.

Cheers,
Cp

Chris,

What ports are available for the NA-EPL5? I am in particular curious about ports for macro lens (e.g., the Panasonic 45, or there alternatives from Olympus?)

Thanks!

Nir

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your help.
Can you let me know of any new ports in the pipeline?
I'm seriously considering upgrading to the Panasonic 45 macro but can hold off if you/Zen are doing a port for the 60mm macro?
I'm also looking at the new 12-50 that is already available and I'm wondering if Zen is going to do a 'new' port or just an extension tube for one of the 'older' domes???
Thanks for taking the time and my apologies for getting slightly off centre with this thread.

Hi terson,

I don't have any specific info for you now about new ports, but we are always looking at the new lenses and the 60mm in particular will be interesting, both for Zen-on-PEN and Nauticam.

Cheers,
Cp

Hello Nir,

If you go to our website, and look in the right hand column, you'll see the link for the port charts, including the m4/3 chart.
Nauticam USA - Innovation Underwater - Nauticam USA News

In a nutshell, these are the current lenses supported
Lumix 8mm FE
Lumix 14mm
Leica 45mm macro
Lumix 14-42
Lumix 7-14
Olympus 14-42
Olympus 9-18

The Lumix 14-42 PZ will be supported soon, and of course we are looking at all of the other newer lenses too.

Cheers,
Cp

I have had the the Olympus EPL3 and the Nauticam housing since January. So far I have been using the kit 14-42 lens in the flat port. When I ordered my gear I also got the 4.33 dome, I don't have anything to put in it yet but I will be placing an order for the Panasonic 8mm lens in the next couple of weeks. I can see from the reviews that the Panasonic 8mm and the Olympus 12mm both go in the same port and provide useful complimentary coverage. My budget will never stretch to both so I was considering getting the (much cheaper) Panasonic f2.5 14mm as well. The Nauticam site suggests that this lens will also fit in the 4.33 dome.
Is this a sensible compromise?
