Hi

any one have try to use the Turbo sole and rock boot? ( maybe a bigger size?) just buy a use DUI TLS 350 with turbo sole not sure it fit my style of diving ....

Luc

I have Turbo soles on my TLS 350

I have Rockboots on my CF200

I like them both. From boats and sandy shores I like the Turbo soles.

From rocky and other areas, I like the Rockboots.

I need bigger fins with the rockboots vs the turbosoles

Yes but can the rock boot be use with the turbo sole?

I have no idea and can't think of any reason anyone would want to do that. Just buy a suit set up for Rockboots and save the aggravation of buying huge fins. Double soles? It is kind of like having sneakers and wanting to put work boots over the top of them. Makes no sense. Just wear the work boots.

I don't think its very expensive to have DUI swap the turbo soles for rock socks. If ankle inflexibility of the rock boots doesn't meet your performance expectation, you can also use a few sizes larger neoprene dive boots with the rock socks.

I have integrated rock boots on my Waterproof D1 Hybrid and wish I had turbo soles. The gas expansion if diving in trim with legs bent for frog kicking can be difficult to manage. I've since placed Velcro straps around my ankles to prevent gas from entering the foot area & added much thicker socks. While this works, I'd still go with turbo soles given the chance. Heck, I have been contemplating cutting the rock boots off to add turbo soles!

Hi Luc,

This is Kathy Long with DUI. I came across your post. Any chance you can make it out to a DUI Demo Tour? You can dive a DUI drysuit with RockBoots and see how you like them. You can find Demo Tour locations at Event Calendar at DUI - Diving Unlimited International

FYI - You might be able to remove the Turbo Soles yourself if you decide that you do want them removed.. This would save you some money. Please know that you could damage your drysuit in the process but if you decide you want them removed...well you could try it first yourself as that's free. After that you would just need to buy a set of RockBoots and you would be good to go.

The Turbo Soles are glued/laminated onto the drysuit. So basically you need to delaminate them. I talked with Pam in San Diego and she suggested using a hair dryer and getting the edge warm. This will heat the glue up slightly and may allow you to pull the sole away from the suit. Slowly working the boot off the suit. You can also you a solvent like Tolulene but using to much can damage the material. Be careful here. And when you are all done your boot will be a little stiff as it will have glue on it...but again it may be worth it to you financially. It all depends on what you want.

I hope this was helpful. Please let us know how we can be of help. We LOVE our customers!

Hi Kathy

Thank you very much, very nice support , i will try the turbo sole and see, i am a cave diver this is my first DUI dry suit (i use bare+ rock boot before ) i think for cave it be ok, but i also do Ice Diving ..that is where i think rock boot is better, i will post my result soon :)

Ok , i guess i try the turbo sole and see,

thank you

Turbo soles are a good idea as they combine the mobility of a neoprene sock with a rigid sole. However the actual turbo soles on the TLS-350s I've known leaked constantly and were difficult to repair as the leaks were between the sole and sock. I now use neoprene socks with plain wet suit booties.
