Can you show me that statute?

The owners of Ginnie Spring forbid it. It is their rules that you agree to when signing in. But you already sound like the type that doesn't give a damn about any kind of rules. You are not here to get our thoughts, you are here for us to tell you sure go ahead.

If you're looking for a statue, I can't help you. But I can point you towards the rules of Ginnie Springs Outdoors, which states that only those w/ cavern certifications (or above) can take lights into the Devil's spring run. Full Service Dive Center at Ginnie Springs Outdoors

If you're looking for statistics, I have those, too. Here's a good starting point http://iucrr.org/index.php

This isn't a game. It kills people.

There is no statute (law). If you go by land through Ginnie Springs Outdoors, break the rules & are caught with a light in the cave systems, you will be "asked to leave" & banned from entrance that way.

I know you said you don't want to hear about the ethics & training,.... but it is glaringly obvious that you need to.

One question. Why do you seem hell bent on possible suicide? There have been nearly 20 cave fatalities alone, this year & out of them only 3 had training, but were breaking the prescribed rules of safe cave diving- Do you even know what these rules are? Why/ how they were formulated? That's right, they came about due to the deaths of divers before, that had made those mistakes & paid with their lives. All the other fatalities were non cave trained divers who thought they could get away with it or that their guide would protect them. Guess what,... they were wrong..... dead wrong. I made the same mistake you are planning (another system). Yes, I'm alive,... but I only barely made it out. I came very close to becoming a statistic in 2007. Only by the grace of God & luck did I make out alive. It scared me badly & I learned my lesson. I got training.

Before you do this,.... ask yourself,.... how much grief do you want to cause your family & loved ones if/when you don't return? Also ask yourself, do you really want to risk the safety & lives of the recovery crew that will have to get you out? In the end ask yourself, is it truly worth the risk?

The entrance to the cave had a Grim Reaper sign, stating that people have died there. I don't know if it's still there, but it should be. I've never entered the cave, and the people I saw preparing to dive there always had doubles. It's not "just an easy dive."

Please, don't enter the cave without proper cave training.

I think he's not even here to get the go-ahead (not going to happen by anyone knowledgeable), he's here simply to get a more detailed map.

I guess his contingency plan if he doesn't make it out of the eye is that he'll follow his line back - and run out of air on his single tank in the process.

Reaper sign is (hopefully) warning off the non trained.

Does not mean anyone has actually died there. (Although in popular caves they probably have)

I agree this has to be a troll. If you are stupid enough to really be serious then no one can stop you. You might get away with this kind of dive a time or two but eventually something will go wrong and with a conventional open water set up and no training you will more than likely die. I personaly don't have a problem with you killing yourself because it sounds like you need to be removed from the gene pool any way. I just wish you wouldn't do it in a cave as it makes the cave diving community look bad and some one will have to come in and do a body recovery. If you are interested in this kind of diving spend a little bit of money and time and get the training. It is a wonderful sport with a great community and you will get to experience places you can't even imagine.
