Bad photographers at SCUBA Club

The view hog is nothing more than under the water than above water. Personally, I am tired of all the me first crap. Call people out on it, in public, and in their face. Whilst snow skiing at a lift area on xmas a guy tries to pass and comes barreling by me on a single track. He was not in control and going to take me out, before he could I stuck my arm out and he went down. After exchanging a few words he stayed way behind me. He got the message.

I love to make up fake sightings back on the boat. Half the fun is to see how spun up you can get somebody when you tell them about the 2 headed lobster you saw, it's even better when you have a partner in crime and start having a fake conversation loud enough for some dive socialist to overhear you two and you pretend how excited you were to have gotten pictures of the elusive dancing pelosi fish with the top hat, like the singing frog from the bugs bunny cartoon.

I have seen this behaviour multiple times with photogs in Coz. I can't stand most of them and always ask to be placed on different boats. Yes, some or most are cool and good divers, but I just would rather not risk getting stuck with "one of them".

Don't worry, we don't want to get stuck with you either!

More often than I would like, when my gf sits out a dive, I get stuck with someone that I would rather not dive with.

My experience.

On my first dive trip ever I went to Cozumel. I am sure I was not the perfect picture of form and function. I did work on getting things sorted out.

On my first ever night dive the DM was pointing things out and most people were taking their look and sharing nicely. Except the one person who screwed it up for me.

I waited far enough away to give others their turn to see the Octopus. As I started to drop down and take a peek, from above and behind came that person. She kicked my regulator out of my mouth to get to the spot. I shook it off and let her go. Much to my dismay the new opportunity came along, I looked around and did not see her and slowly moved in to see the huge lobster the DM was pointing out. She again came from above, dive bombed me and kicked my mask askew flooding it and coming close to knocking it off. Unfortunately she had one more shot to give me at the next viewing opportunity, she kicked me squarely in the jaw, I briefly saw stars. I was glad that I knew how to handle all of the things that happened that night.

I was pissed when I got out of the water. The DM came over and asked me if I was going to be OK, he could tell I was livid. He told me to just sit for a minute, he would load my gear into my bag. I declined the offer. He had to have known what happened. I steered clear of that person for the rest of the trip. Finally on the last day I was showing some of the others a few of the photos I had taken both above and the few I had taken underwater. I had not taken the camera on the night dive as I did not feel comfortable doing so. She came over, then she threw a business card on the table and told me she wanted me to email copies to her after I got home. I ignored her and left the card where she had put it. I don't think she had a clue what she had done.

Too bad this was a woman- I found a great way to solve this problem on my 3rd dive. (First couple of dives I just held my regulator if someone was too close to me.)
I had a guy who had no idea where he was going descending right onto me to get into a swim through (he did have a camera, but I don't think he was taking pictures) and I put my hand up, and back a bit, since I was ahead of him, to prevent him from crashing into me too hard... grabbed him right in the junk (did NOT do that on purpose, I was a bit mortified)- but he stayed away from me for the rest of the dive Problem solved. Get in my way- I will molest you.
