These are in large numbers right now. They're always interesting

Diving at Breakwater on Sunday was incredible. Viz was 25-30 in spots, the water was lake-like, and the temps varied from 52-57. I have been there many times, but I saw critters on our two dives that I have never seen there and several I had never seen anywhere. I can't even guess what family one creature belongs in. I hope it's okay I post a picture here (sorry it's not the greatest) and maybe someone can educate me.

Thanks Chuck. I'd never seen these before this year.

I just got back from San Diego, diving La jolla cove and La jolla shores. 460 miles driven south and you had better vis than me and water wasn't even a degree warmer than you report here in my backyard. Go figure.

I can't complain though, despite the less than ideal conditions I got to snorkell with a group of leopard sharks, bat rays and sting rays. Also got to see my first horn sharks and got a glimpse of a soupfin and 7 gill shark as well. :)

Just got back from diving Point Lobos on Monday and Tuesday. Visibility was 25' on Middle reef and about 30 or so at HITW. Water temp was ~53 on my computer.

Did two more dives at the Breakwater on Wednesday and visibility was pretty poor in the first 20', but opened up as you went deeper. At 40' it seemed to be 20+

Had a nice 3 days of diving.

Here is a little clip from Middle Reef on Monday with my newly certified son.

I had him try out my F1s while I was trying out some jets.

Hi Keith! It was nice to meet you this week. Glad your dives worked out!

Thanks Adrian, it was great to meet you as well.

I know I have found my Monterey LDS! The new Breakwater scuba!

My son and I stopped in on Tuesday to look for a vest to add to his one piece 7 mil for some additional insulation.

We had a great conversation with Scott Cooper and he just loaned him a top to wear under the suit. It was very much like a lavacore, but a differernt manufacturer. It helped him a lot!

It will be great to see his plans for the shop come to fruition!

I really enjoyed our conversation as well Adrian and your recommendation on where to enter at Monestary to avoid the surf entry and to get to the edge of the canyon. That will definitely be in my future!

Drin,

Regarding Monastery beach, can you post a Google satellite map type photo (or link) with an X-marks-the-spot of the "Eagles Beak" cove that you mentioned in another post? (wasn't appropriate to ask in that other thread)

Thanks

I'd be happy to. I'll send it tonight when I get back to my computer.

How deep did you snorkel above to see all that?
