It is rated IPX6 - "Heavy splashing and rain". IP Code - Wikipedia

This is not something I would take underwater...well not with something I wanted to keep dry.

The scuba diver's secret is to use an old screw top C/D battery dive light (for keys) or a P&S (canon?) housing for those bigger things.

If you really want to get a close up idea on how to flood small stuff underwater make one of these - endless hours of fun for the whole family? DIY dive computer pressure test chamber. Under $80

I've heard of people getting injured when their dry box implodes at depth. It's probably not great for your phone either.

To keep the stuff dry while it's ON the boat, not in the water. Who the heck would be stupid enough to take their phone/wallet/keys underwater with them? o_O

Then it should work great.

People who are worried about thieves. It's a lot harder to steal your car when you take the keys and alarm fob with you then when you leave it on top of the left rear tire.

Notice I said "boat diving," not "shore diving." Shore diving doesn't happen much locally. You're either on a boat or at the quarry.

I tired to edit my original post to note it was just for keeping stuff dry ON the boat, but it just doesn't update.

The edit is there.

For keeping stuff dry on the boat go big - get a big a** fold up dry bag that you can keep a few sandwiches in.

This is the concept MEC Brooks Dry Bag pick a size that works for you.
