Hi all,
I was looking for an operator offering 3 daily dives but 2 dives either in the morning or afternoon seem to be the most common in the area. although I myself do not like 3+ dives a day, this time I have only 3 nights in cozumel and thought of doing consecutive morning / afternoon dives in one of the days. What do you think ? have anyone had the same experience?

It isn't common but it may be doable. Most ops run two tankers in the morning and afternoon dives only if their minimum is met, and usually you won't know about the afternoon until the day of. If you are with a group that meets their minimum it should be easily arranged; if not you'll have to wait and see.

Most of the ops have friendly relationships with the others; if your op of choice isn't going out in the afternoon they may be able to place you with someone else who is. It may take a little legwork on your part, but odds are good that you can find a way.

Hi Regina,

When I contacted Tres Pelicanos we were guaranteed afternoon dives while booking for minimum 2 people(myself and Mrs.) There is a recent post where a diver also mentioned they did multiple days morning and afternoon 2 tank and they were dropped off on the way back to a beach bar and were picked up a little while later so they could have lunch and relax. If you have a buddy I am sure 3P will be able to accommodate you. Just contact Jeanie at dive@trespelicanos.com and she will take care of it(3P is one of the Top rated OP's in Cozumel). I am sure you will get plenty more advise from other Scubaboard members for other ops also. Christi at BlueXTsea and Dave at aldora divers are big supporters of this site and probably will be able to assist also. Plenty of options in Cozumel hope you have a great time.

Dive Paradise offers 2x AM + 1x PM with a night dive if enough people sign up. Same with Tres Pelicanos when I dove with them last year. 3Ps had a twilight and night dive also. Be aware that the PM dive will not be the greatest, but are usually cheaper if bought with a package.
Call around or stop by any of the many dive shops in town. Somebody will be diving somewhere.

We did morning and afternoon dives several days when we were diving with 3Ps last February. They drop you off at the Money Bar (I recommend their burgers) then pick you up on the way back. Very doable. In fact, very good option since they do all the work. You just have a leisure lunch then when the boat arrives your gear is ready to go for the afternoon dives.

Our first time in Cozumel we stayed at Blue Angel and did two boat rides. With that being said they had other divers doing the afternoon which I think is a common thing with them. Some folks like the a.m. and some like the p.m.

I've done it several times. It does usually result in a very quick lunch, although the money bar drop-off sounds great. Another option is to do the morning dives, have a leisurely lunch, and then do a twilight dive, which is a late afternoon-night dive combo.

Depending on your profiles and the number of days, it might be worth using nitrox for 4 dives/day. I never bother with just 2 dives/day, but I also do 10 minute+ stops. Diving all day at Cozumel depths is a perfect scenario for nitrox.

Scuba Club Cozumel, early morning out of the moon pool, then two dives off the boat and a night dive again out of the moon pool. Early mornings and nights are way different off the resort.

What uncfnp said above. Diving with Tres Pelicanos makes it very easy to get in two morning and 2 afternoon dives. As long as you call ahead and let Jeanie know they will take 2 out in the afternoon. I've done 4 dives a day with them a 2 or 3 times and never felt rushed since they do all the work and run people back to the marina while I'm eating my lunch. And I found the food at the Money Bar to be pretty good.
