Yeah, because if you load two scooters, a rebreather, 7 tanks, Drysuit, undergarments, food, water, blah blah blah blah blah, drive 5 hours and then can’t make a dive because you’re in the middle of no where with a failure, you get really friggin pissed off. Well, at least I do. :)

Or worse yet, you’ve driven that far and your student has a failure and you lose a day trying to hunt down a fix to his issue.

Just easier. It all fits in a single tackle box.

If you have a drysuit with replaceable neck/wrist seals, spare set of seals and the neck seal tool, plus zipper wax and talc for seals (kept in drysuit bag)

Mask strap
O rings
Scuba multi-tool with wrench
Valve hand wheel tool (this actually saved my bacon on my recent Lake Huron diving trip)
Thin bungee cord
bolt snap
Batteries for Perdix and transmitter
Small tube of silicone grease and soft brush for uw camera O-ring seal
Spare charged batteries for dive lights

It all fits in a small orange plastic dry box I got in the camping aisle at Walmart for $10. This goes in my dive bag for the boat. I have a larger kit that stays in the car.

I have a double sized organizer box about the size of a laptop from
Home Depot. Maybe $10-$12. The orange dividers come out. Mainly stays in the car.

2 sets of Allen wrenches, metric and Imperial
Various O rings
Batteries
Bolt snaps
Scuba multi tool
Din caps
Din valve plugs
Tri glides
D rings
Silicone grass
Port plugs
Bungee cord
Spare blades for line cutter

I feel your pain. Not many of my dives are that far and I don't have students, but missing a dive is really annoying, especially over some little bit or tool.

I carry several of those yellow rubber things for hanging your spare reg on. More than once I had an instabuddy whose octo was dangling, especially on rental gear, and gave them one. I do not take much on the boat. They have wrenches etc. I do take a spare weight pocket, because I have one, some extra weights, couple bolt snaps, and plastic ties. The ties get used for all sorts of things from reattaching mouthpieces to repairing snaps that have come loose, etc. There are more tools in the car.
