Any word when Deep 6 will have their products in stock? I'm not usually a big contender about fashion, but I hate the blue on the reg but nothing else is in stock... including their signature 1st stages.

Also, what are the differences between the Deep 6 signature series 2nd stage and their
Deep Six DGX 2nd Stage Regulator?

The signature series 2nd stage has the turbo piston. Also a different case. The average recreational diver would not be able to tell the difference in breathing between the two with each properly tuned.
The signature series also has an easier to remove cover over the exhaust diaphragm. Usually, it's not necessary to remove it at service but it is a difference.
I have two signature series seconds and two signature 1sts. I used them to tear and reassemble when I was creating the service manual for the regs.

Thanks, I was asking because I do deep (max rec depths, eventually deeper in the not too distant future when I do AN/DP or similar training) and cold (~40F) dives, and was wondering if there was anything about the signature series that I would regret not having if I went with the DGX model instead (since it seems to actually be in stock).

The other 2nd stage I was considering was the HOG Zenith, if that makes a difference.

@jlcnuke signature series also has a lower total cost of ownership, better first stage design, better coating, etc. Either of them will and have *not necessarily the DGX, but the model that it comes from* gone deeper and colder than you are likely to go.

If Deep6 Signature is version 1.5, HOG Zenith is basically version 1.0. Better poppet in the Deep6, better internal parts, and a couple step changes. Functionally the same

I'm only looking at the 2nd stage right now, as I'm happy with my MC9/SC from Cressi 1st stages for the moment. Sounds like maybe it's worth waiting for Deep 6 to figure out their supply issues and actually get something in stock? Though, are their supply issues going to screw up getting parts later??

I’m happy with my HOG D3 w/Zenith seconds. They’re a great bang for your buck.

I got to dive a Deep 6 Signature set on a stage bottle recently. I couldn’t tell a difference (function wise) between that and my HOG setup down around 100’.

I will also say that the Deep 6 Signature first stage is a work of art. It’s super pretty.:D

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy either, having experience with both HOG and Deep 6 customer service.

If your just looking for the 2nd they have the orange in stock.

Deep 6 Signature Series Second Stage (Orange)

JL...

DGX has a complete write-up on the differences between the signature branded Deep 6 regs...and the black DGX Deep 6 sets...

No complimentary orange dry-box...which is not the best way to store your regs anyway...a reg bag that breaths...is better than a water-tight dry box...and no complimentary service kits...

DGX has all the kits...so you have the option of DIY...or boxing up your regs and sending them in for service...

Best...
