Here is what I want in a wetsuit boot:
  • Comfortable.
  • Fit my wide ass feet (US Size 12 4E).
  • Fit inside my XL Dive Rite XT Fins.
  • Nice solid non-slip soles for walking over roots and rocks and up and down wood and metal stairs wearing my doubles rig.
What brand should I get?

Why don't you check out the Deep 6 rock boots? They are on sale right now.

I should say I already have these boots and find the sole to be insufficient. Are the $25 DGX boots linked much better? They don't look it in the pictures.

Those look pretty damn good!

These ones right? They fit inside fins and are good for diving?

Deep 6 Thick Boots

I am sorry to say they are probably not for you. I wear a size 9 and am on the wider side but not 4E. I ordered and just received a pair of 10s that I was intending to use with my Fusion Drysuit with thick under-socks. The 10s are uncomfortably narrow for just my size-9 socked foot and are too-long. No way could I get them on with the DS and thick under-socks. The sizing is probably nominally correct, but narrow.

It is a shame, nice boot and a killer price. I am very bummed that I am going to have to find something else.

These Deep Six boots (I'm sure) are designed for bare feet / lycra stocking feet. No way they're designed to go over DrySuit stocking feet without going up at least two sizes.

Bresides, why would you want a neoprene sock (which these boots feature) going over a neoprene sock of a dry suit foot?

These are made for off roading in a wetsuit. Can't imagine trying to use my DS with these.

The Fusion suits use a very-thin waterproof fabric sock with 0 integral thermal value. With thickish under-socks, I can easily fit in a +1 size of my regular wet-boot.

I was specifically looking for the integral thermal protection of the D6 thick boot and the off-roading aspect. They seem to run at least 1-size narrow, unfortunately.
