So I guess mine shouldn't have a square cross section? If not its odd that they're what Apeks put on them
Is a new o-ring, or one that has been squeezed into its groove for a while? The latter can take a squarish shape.

Brand new regs been used 6 times. I suppose they could have been squashed under the caps for a while since they were made. These are very square though, no rounded edges at all.

My buddies Apeks TX50 has been having din o ring issues. O rings do not want to stay seated.

Today the reg was leaking from the manifold, although the O ring was still seated. This is the same O ring that worked fine last week. He tried replacing it but three new O rings and same leak.

What is the correct size for this O ring, the one visable from the outside? Could it be metric? I had a 112 and that was not the correct one.

Could it be leaking from the inner O ring on the din adapter, and what size is this one?

Any other Ideas, I'm thinking if not the o ring, maybe the the machining on the groove could be off a little.

It cost him a few dives today, thanks for any help.
Aside from getting the correct size for some spares, he should be aware that he may have been diving with a spare all along. Apeks likes to include a spare oring on the DIN dust cap. The service kit contains not only a replacement for the face of the DIN connector, but also a replacement for that spare so it should always be "fresh." Assuming the technician realized that spare gets replaced too...

Not sure about the latest service kit but the old one(AP0241) has only one AP1166.
Leaking from the manifold could be due to the grime accumulated inside it. I would take a good look at it especially the area where the O-ring is connected with the manifold.

Hi guys,
I'm having the same problem with my orings popping off nearly every time I take my regs off. They're brand new regs and the cross section of the oring is square, does that sound right?
TIA Mike
I'm having the same issue with a brand new one. Did you end up solving the problem?
