YMCA Scuba Diver.... a long time dream as a kid growing up, and the foundation of everything else to follow.

I am however proud of my achievements of each and every certification I have earned. I put a lot of work into each one, and pushed myself to not just "pass".

Sub-Aqua Bronze Medallion [1976 to 1986 only] The Royal Life Saving Society -Australia
No card , a medallion with your name on the back, took weeks , hard rescues from depth and long swims on the surface , onto a boat, out of the surf, ditch gear [recover later] etc , first aid , harder then any the rescue courses I did with PADI , NAUI or FAUI, I was young and fit, had to be.
I have it in a safe.

Rescue was the most challenging from physical standpoint, but OW is the one...

PADI OW (my highest c-card is tdi trimix)
It's a toss up. Either that or the DM because of the amount of "components" (ie. work & time) involved.

EDIT/ADDITION: This is a fun card a dive buddy made up. To earn it you had to first be guided to see Grimace. In order to achieve that you had to be deemed worthy. Going to see Grimace requires deep diving approval at Gilboa (not a trivial approval to get from the owner) plus buddies who know how to find him and who feel safe taking you there. Grimace is found in a deep, dark corner of the quarry and it requires a decent swim to get there. It is always COLD and DARK and is a very narcosis inducing dive. Second, once you have been taken to Grimace you have to then lead a group to find grimace yourself all following the same requirements from dive one.

It is therefore a bit of a fun right-of-passage card amongst a group of us Great Lakes Wrecking Crew (a formerly very active Scubaboard regional forum) divers who would regularly meet up at Gilboa for diving both for fun and for preparation to hit the Great Lakes.

Underwater Pumpkin Carving!!! Hands down! Coordinating with hubby to get a pumpkin full of air deep enough in the water to then cut holes in it and carve it up - making it no longer buoyant ... that was a challenge!!!
