This pic was taken at an open water reef between Punta Bilar and Basul Island in Surigao City. I had the good fortune to join up with the Surigao Dive Club a few years back. Those guys work tirelessly finding new dive locations, often with the help of local fisherman. You can truly hardly fall out of a boat in this area and not have something to see. Diving in the Philippines can be extremely diverse, offering much of everything within reach of shore or a 10-15 minute boat ride.
