I dove with these guys last month and liked them very much. They are in Deerfield beach which is next to Boca Raton.

I second this one. These guys are good, but tell them what you. They are fairly hands-off (which I like), but will help out as you need.

If you're going to key largo, I just dove with diverscityusa.com. Barb and Bob are great. Equally hands-off if you want. Very compitent and friendly.

I wouldn't head any more south than key largo if heading to the keys, no need to drive that far.

I did the dive off the pennekamp charter, was like $40 and we went to molasses reef for 2 tanks... not bad at all.

Apparantly theres a good charter on here as well, silentworld that operates out of key largo...

I would ignore the beach diving, it's just nothing compared to taking a boat out.

If you are staying in the lauderdale/pompano area, just hit up a local charter, I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything for the most part.

I've dove with Parrot Island Scuba and South Florida Diving HQ. Both have boats at the inlet in Pompano Beach, and are excellent operators. You won't be disappointed with either one.
