New BC (SP Knighthawk), I it bought 2 months ago and I was wondering how I can control the tank roll and the air from moving side to side in the back inflate.

I used to dive a ProQD+...snug fit, well balanced...just the squeeze of the inflation changed my aim to a new BC.

I have been trying all sorts of weight balancing with the trim pockets and whatnot to help me gain control; that helped my body stay horizontal. However, I still get the roll to the left and feel like I have no control over the BC. EVER. Maybe I got a size too big? I am 5"6 SZ M in the knighthawk...SZ S in the ProQD+.........

also, another complain I have about this BC is the dump valve rarely works.... only when I am perfectly vertical! same goes for the LP hose. Seaquest didn't have that problem. hmmm...?

my 2cents.

I'm guessing you may have a size too big. I have the small Ladyhawk and I'm 5'7" it's just a bit too small for me in my drysuit but fits pretty good in a 7mm wetsuit. I found I had to leave the weight out of the trim pockets, it wanted to flip me forward with lead in there. I tend to lean to the right when I dive so I put 1 or 2 extra pounds in my left weight pocket and that gets me level.

Maybe you could come to Ohio and we could switch BC's for a dive, see if that helps.

You have to drop your right shoulder down lower than the left to get the air to move up to the dump valve. Took me a while to get the hang of that.

I've just learned to roll and let air out. Happens at least one time every dive. Im 5'6 to I feel your pain but I dont mind now that I have 34 dive on it. Mark

Im going to try that. Thank you.

Hey! Good News! I tried your technique with the shoulder drop and the movement with the dump valves worked too. Now, I don't have to swim vertical to get my new bc to my comfort level.

Um, another thing I notice today :shakehead....when I want to sit buddah style or hover neutrally I found myself rolling to my left side. I think the bubble was on the right side of the U...what you say? Any weighting distribution input here?
