I have checked out this site. Its a good one. There is fossil and dive info. I have gone to most of the spot listed for beach dives. So far most of the info. is correct. For Venice Beach it lists Casperson Beach and states the ledges are at 22ft. Thats right on the money. To me they look more like large rocks (I did not find any Shark teeth at these ledges, I feel you will have better luck at the venice public beach.

I'm hitting the Southwest sites on the weekends. In search of the Megalodons.

If you have any sites to share, please pass them on.

Thanks

Let me know how you do. I have a underwater metal detector and have been wanting to head over there.

It always gives me pleasure to scan a forum and see my site mentioned in a positive way, even if I am 4 years late . . . Although the front page has changed, all the original info is still there via the link at the bottom.

Happy diving and I hope you find the treasure of your dreams!

Matt,

I discovered your site a long time ago and have enjoyed going through the pages, as I'm sure, other treasure hunters have, clicking through your great collection of material you have compiled. Thanks for putting it together.

Good Diving/Hunting,

Here's a little help: http://www.scubaboard.com/showpost.php?p=642540&postcount=2

From casperson I've found a nice bunch of bones, fossil antler, deer/camel/horse teeth, smaller shark teeth and a meg. Most interesting find there was a juvinile mastadon tibia (confirmed with the UF Palentology dept).

From Alhambra I've recovered more than a few megs, a few thousand small teeth, bones, and a token for a nickelodeon museum in MS that closed a decade ago.

What would you like to know about diving the area or fossiling, there are a few of us who do that :)

I've got a few dives at Manasota - it was nice there, far less boat traffic that kept the mind wondering "When are they going to hit me or just go away?" - I didn't find as many teeth there, but what I did find were in better shape.

Thanks all of you! The treasure book link is now on the main page: http://www.treasuresites.com/treasurebooks.htm (Gold/Gems link) it needs to be a little more clear I suppose. The diving books are towards the middle. I am slowly updating, but a stroke has slowed me in recent years and I am struggling to film the "Great Loop" and a few other projects.

Good luck with your diving and all it is you do, and don't forget to teach a kid . . .
