Beginning early May ecologic DIVERS will be offering small groups to dive the "Marlon L" off of Belize City.
This wreck was discovered 1999 but only dove by a select few, and now we are going to dive the wreck weekly with a few quests. This wreck is 180' steel hull lumber ship that sunk in 1946 under heavy seas inside the barrier reef at 130'. It is completely intact, with lots of marine growth.
The trip will consist of 2 nitrox dives at the ship and one air dive closer to Ambergris Caye.
This dive site give Belize another great dive to go along with BLUE HOLE, TURNEFF, BARRIER REEF AND NOW WRECK DIVING

You are more than welcome, when will you be back in Belize?

Figures ya'll wait a year after I am there. :(

Hi Steve, Sounds like fun. What type of profile? Isn't 130ft a bit deep for the standard nitrox mixes and their accompanying MOD's? Or does the wreck sit a bit shallower? Later, Ken :42:

Ken
Good point, The topside of the ship is 95 to 118 to the deck. We are only going to the those depths. We are looking into changing the mix a little to allow to go a little deeper, but that won't be for a while. Currently we are only using nitrox @ 32%
This coming week we are diving the wreck to do more survey and mapping.

Sounds Good and like a lot of fun. You'll have to post after your surveying trip. I might like to partake on the next visit down. Dive safe, Ken :42:

Just returned from a week in Belize (3/28-4/4). Dove with Ecologic for a few days (divemaster: Marcos), and also tried 2 other dive outfits while there. I think Ecologic is the best. Very helpful and accomodating, very friendly, and Marcos is a great divemaster. They were just considering and scounting the wreck on our last day there, so we missed out, but definitely excited to head back there and dive with them again to the wreck and other spots. Thanks for a great week, Steve!
