My mares mr12 and the mares second stages (brass) work fine. I have never been under ice but have been in 36F for over an hour.

re: regs - I've been diving a rental reg with Mares MR12 1st stage and Dacor Fury primary, Dacor Extreme octo (which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, breathes wet, although that might be a result of dubious maintenance). I've been using the same reg all winter. Only one freeflow once when getting into the water and my octo went underwater upside down (duh). Besides that not one problem despite being under ice (ahem), in current, etc.
