The Lady Hawk is a back inflate. I have one and loved it for years until it was in for service and I tried a jacket BC. I will still use the lady hawk on occasion, but I prefer the jacket now as my "go to". It didn't come with an air2, I had it put on in the beginning. I don't know if size has anything to do with my preference but I'm 5'2" and dive with smaller tanks. Also, Scubapro, when under warranted had to be serviced by a scubapro business.

I would be neutrally bouyant for 5 to 7 minutes then, without adding air, I would rocket to the surface.

The only way buoyancy is going to change is if you add or lose weight or add or lose air.

The scenario you described sounds like a partially open inflator hose valve.
