How do you travel with your camera?

I don't pack my reg or dive computer in carryon--worst comes to worst, I can rent equipment. In the room saved, I pack bathing suit, and a change of clothes. Again, if my checked bags don't show up, I can still dive and take pictures. Sitting next to me at dinner after 3 days waiting for...

Photo's from last week in the Maldives...

Very much enjoyed your pictures--as mentioned in another post, any camera/strobe setting info is always interesting. So, now the Maldives will have to go to the top of my list--2012???

Any one have the FIX S90 manual in pdf format?

I scanned in my "manual"--not much, just a couple of pages. Hope it helps. The biggest thing is being SURE that the lock is all the way turned--I ended up using fingernail polish and marked the "bump" on the wheel-- Let me know if these attachments don't work--I can resend...

    dive charter recommendations - Tampa

I believe the current temperature is about 55 degrees--the gulf temp gets lower than you might think. The east coast around West Palm Beach stays warmer due to the Gulf Stream, and it is somewhat further south. FF

I believe your un-id shrimp is an "Anemone Shrimp" (periclimenes brevicarpalis) Pacific Clown Anemone Shrimp (Periclimenes brevicarpalis) Your photos are really wonderful with great colors and sharpness (goals that too frequently are not achieved in my photos).

    Nov. 5 Bohol pics

Very nice pictures with great sharpness and colors. I agree about the battery situation. My only complaint about the S90 is the REALLY, REALLY poor battery life. I purchased the "Japanese" cell batteries (supposed better), and have all the "bells & whistles" turned off, but I can only get...

    Fisheye FIX for the S90

bsummers, I have an Inon S-2000 which I use in sTTL and an S&S YS-27 which only has manual mode. Generally, I start out with the YS-27 at about 3/4 power and adjust as necessary. Very wide angle, I go to full power. Both strobes are connected via their own fibre optic cable to my FIX...

    canon S90 Traveling Case

Cruiser, I pack the individual pieces (camera, strobe, batteries, etc) in my carry-on padded with clothing (bathing suit, tshirts, etc) or skins/3 mm. Most boats either have a camera table (preferrable) or at least a large rinse bucket. I don't like to leave my setup in the rinse bucket...

    Fix s90/s95

Thanks Nemrod--I love my S90 and the FIX housing, but I was planning on buying a backup camera (just in case of you-know-what--best not to say it outloud) and would have liked to have gotten the S95 and have used the S90 as the backup. Maybe, maybe FIX will be able to do something-- FF

    Fix s90/s95

Anybody heard if the FIX S90 housing can be modified to fit the new S95? I asked Reef and they are expecting to talk with FIX this week or next. Based on another thread, it seems Ike has been able to make this happen. FF

    s-90 Pictures

parzdiver--At the time I bought the FIX it was the only housing that could take wet lenses--this was very important to me. I do believe that adapters are now available for both the Canon and Ikelite, so I think they can now also accommodate wet lenses. I haven't been keeping up with the newer...

    s-90 Pictures

I appreciate the comments on the pictures. To answer a couple of questions: Housing: I am using the FIX housing with the 28 adapter. I initially had trouble getting the macro lens to fit on the adapter, but by putting the lens on and off, I finally got it to work perfectly. The housing is...

    S90 AV/TV Defaults

Thanks jd950 you addressed my question and frustration. I want to shoot sTTL (S2000), but now I am faced with the problem of 1/60 shutter speed (AV) and in TV mode with limited f-Stops. Your suggestion of switching back and forth between AV and TV looks like the only solution (opther than...

    S90 AV/TV Defaults

Unfortunately, I have read, and re-read those pages. Which is why I am asking the questions, as the camera does not seem to be acting as described in the manual. FF

    S90 AV/TV Defaults

Am I correct that when set to AV, the shutter speed defaults to 1/60 and doesn't change even when the F-stop is changed? When set to TV, the F-stop defaults to 2.0 at wide, to 4.9 tele? I just don't get it--I thought by definition, in AV the camera selected the shutter speed--not just...

    S90 Movie Mode

Thanks very much for the help. Once again, manuals are not as specfic as they could be and digital zoom, as you point out, is basically worthless. At any rate, I will just have to zoom with my fins! Regards, FF
