Hi Zubaz,
Our Monterey course is usually quite popular. We don't have that one up on the website yet, but we run at least one there every year. I'll post on here when we have more dates up online. I agree, I think it's all you abalone divers there!
Hi Coolio,
Have you ever tried freediving before or would the class be your first time? If so I can put you in touch with independent instructors in your area that teach basic courses. We teach 15 year olds, you'll just need parental consent. Please give me an idea of the level you're at and...
Well I know we'll have many more California dates once we confirm our schedule for the 2nd half of the year- hopefully we'll have something that works for you!
Hey guys,
I've seen several posts asking about training recently so I wanted to send this out there. We've got our 2010 dates posted up through June and we'll be updating along the way here.

Hi Eric,
I agree with Chad, there's no age limit on freediving! As long as it's done safely you can enjoy freediving for many many more years. We have a buddy that dives a meter for every year he's been alive and he's in his 70s!!
Hi there-
I agree with zider- this sounds like a sinus squeeze. Unfortunately there's not much you can do in the moment for a sinus squeeze, but w/ a little planning you may be able to prevent it. Before you know you're going to go snorkeling/freediving take Mucinex (ONLY the blue labeled...
It's true- the C4's are worth the money. I prefer the ones w/out the flap though. I'm scared I'd break the flap off! Kirk's just broke recently there. Although, most people don't abuse their gear as bad as I think we do. :)
I forget the name of that wreck but it's south of Ft. Lauderdale. It was about 70 feet at the sand.
James- yea I'd say my camera work doesn't compare to Goh's footage of the Doc Pulson run. :) I try though!
Hey all- check out PFI's facebook page- I just added two more videos of diving w/ the DiveX Cuda scooter on some Ft. Lauderdale wrecks. These scooters are amazing- they're the fastest scooter on the market (though I'm usually not in top gear when video-ing.)

Hey John,
Glad to hear you got so much out of the course. Shoot me an email when you want to come out and we'll get you on a line! Sounds like you've seen more than I have this year- that last time we had our students out we looked up to see the boat captain w/ fishing lines in the water...
Hey ScubaWorks,
It was nuts- the best part was that all of the students were cool as cucumbers. A sailfish sighting is pretty cool too! I've never seen that before. Although we do see some neat stuff- in Kona we've had dolphins circling w/in a few feet and underwater you can hear whales singing...
So I just wanted to share this really cool experience with other freedivers on here. We had a class out a couple weeks ago and we were drifting in about 600 feet of water off Fort Lauderdale. We had two lines set up- I was teaching on one and Ted was on another w/ his students. We were about to...
Ha, sounds like you weren't trying to stay awake. :) I guess you could say that being in an ideal state for apnea (relaxed, low heart rate) is also ideal for napping! Good luck on the breath-holding.
Ha, I guess that means you're very relaxed. I have actually done that before if I've had a long tiring day or if my mind isn't actively engaged with something else during the breath-hold. Try watching television or reading- something to keep your mind active. Otherwise the long breath-holds can...
Hi Qis,
It really is a great material- though more delicate than normal neoprene. Check it out on our website: Performance Freediving at the online store. That will give you a better idea of what it looks like and the price range you'll be in. They're typically two pieces- high waisted pants and...
