    If you had 2 weeks...

Thank you all so much! Yes, as reading more I see that we'll want to "front-load" our trip with diving, then do the drives to the crater, Hilo, etc after a day off. Heard the Manta night dive was awesome, on our list. As it will be over Xmas and New years I'm sure there will be all...

    If you had 2 weeks...

I'm leaning towards 2 weeks on the Big Island...you are right...as I have done more research I don't think we will get bored. ..maybe a side trip to one of the islands for a day/two...

    If you had 2 weeks...

Okay, so trying to plan a trip for the hubby and I, 25th anniversary. Last 2 weeks of Dec, 2015. Some dive background- -novice PADI open water divers with ~50 dives. certified in Virgin Islands, 3 trips to Bonaire, 1 to Cocoview/Roatan, mostly boat divers - like to stay shallow...

Which 2 or3 islands, and when?

Planning our next trip and would like some advice. Probably an open ended question but really looking for an idea of where to start researching. Since we are flying from east coast US, figure it's better to spend 2 weeks in Hawaii. So the question is which 2 or 3 islands are best for...

    First trip to Roatan

Thanks all for your answers, especially the tip on Delta through Atlanta! We can get there in 2 hops (Portland->Atlanta->RTB) for < half the price it takes us to get to Bonaire! yay! Looks like for various reasons we will go there the end of March - hopefully late enough to miss the...

    First trip to Roatan

Hi, Probably a lot of these questions have been asked before. We are thinking of going to Roatan this winter and going to CCV. About us: relatively new divers, about 50 logged dives, most from Buddy Dive/Bonaire, which we have been to 3 times. Enjoy boat diving, most dives were boat dives...

Female dive instructors in Bonaire ?

Another vote for Buddy Dive. We have taken classes from both Francesca and Tina, and both were very nice, knowledgable, and patient.

What happened to United/Continental's EWR-CUR Saturday flight?

Too bad, but don't knock the aquarium dive at Epcot - it's a lot of fun to interact with the kids on the other side of the glass. Oh, and swimming with very well fed sharks is kind of cool.

New to diving / first time on Bonaire - questions

Hi, We went to Bonaire as newly certified divers and stayed at/dove with Buddy Dive. I highly recommend diving with them...and being open/frank with the DM on the boats as to your experience....they let you do your own thing but will also let you hang near them if you are a beginner. I don't...

First time diver with question about weird physical sensations after cert dives!

I'm not a doctor, but I have suffered from anxiety and it can do amazing things to your body. All sorts of sensations and feelings.... it's amazing how many varied physical symptoms it can cause. Not saying there isn't something going on, of course...but trying to make you feel better...

    East Coast Diving

Thanks for all the inputs. We will consider it carefully. We are boaters ourselves so are used to rough boat conditions. Almost all of our dives have been boat dives. 2 of our certification dives in the BVIs were in pretty rough seas, boat bouncing all over the place. That said, we...

    East Coast Diving

Is this suitable for a beginner diver (OW certified, 29 logged dives (most of which on Bonaire)) ?

    Buddy Dive- Room suggestions, etc.

We were just there, there was a map that I might have somewhere in my luggage - BUT it doesn't show specific type of room locations - and if I recall i didn't have a lot of luck with a commitment to a particular room number /location before arrival. We've stayed there twice, in 1 bedrooms...

    Bonaire Trip Report 3/12

Yeah, we had eaten fish at every meal until this one, and were craving some beef, and they had a prime rib special. It wasn't horrible, just not worth the $$$....

    Bonaire Trip Report 3/12

Just got back from a too-short week on Bonaire. Weather was okay - often cloudy, some rain, some wind, but overall pretty nice. This was our 2nd trip to Bonaire, went Feb 2011 as well. We stayed at Buddy Dive both times. I was a little apprehensive after reading the other thread about...

    Aeris contour tank slipping

Hi, On my first week of real usage on vacation with my Aeris Contour BCD, the tank slipped through the strap on one of my early dives. The strap had been presoaked and tightened by my husband. I found that all the other BCs on the boat or around the resort we could look at had a rubber...
