WHOA!!!! I haven't been here in ages as I have been crazy busy. Thanks for the likes and thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate them all ;) Firstly, I started this thread with good intentions, to simply share my happiness scuba diving brought to my married life and how quitting smoking made...
finally got the chance to visit Scubaboard and must say I'm grateful of all your responses. :)
As they say, different strokes for different folks, I think the concept applies to the aftermath of quitting smoking. My SAC is much better and I feel fantastic now that I'm free from cigarette...
Thanks for reply everyone.
As to what attributed to my improved air consumption; it can be that my experience increased so naturally my air consumption is way better or my decision to quit smoking helped my breathing.... whatever it is definitely helped me a lot. The confidence this brought me...
When I was taking my OW course I asked my instructor if it s a massive disadvantage for a smoker like me to scuba dive, he replied As a smoker you probably won't encounter any medical problems while scuba diving. However some smokers notice they use a bit more air than non-smoking scuba...
My Oh my don't get me started on this famous subject because it makes me laugh when I look back what a mess I was when I took my OW course. To start of, I'm not a good swimmer (but atleast I can swim)! During my first open water dive I was holding my instructors hand as if we were lovers...
Every time I read about fatalities like these I really feel sad and bad because how can one lose his life doing the sport we all love :( It's harder to believe especially cause we are talking about 2 accomplished divers.

I asked that same question to myself the other day when I went diving..... however my best answer would be that if it doesn't bother you to have it handy then it's always good to have around just in case, someday it may just save your life :) If my dive instructor always make it a point to wear...
Once when I was diving I met an American diver and chatted with him for a bit, he told me how fortunate enough to be in a tropical country with world class dive destinations. He told me to look around and see how many foreigners around who endured the miles of traveling across the world just to...
I traded my birthday party with my closest friends to get my new dive computer and a dive trip for 3 days. Didn't feel bad at all. But in order for me to do that my husband ordered me not to shop AT ALL two months before my birthday.
Thank you all so much for being helpful. Much appreciated :) I'm so glad I joined scubaboard! I can't stop thinking about diving seriously all day and all night :) I regret not starting this hobby years ago.
Thanks again.
