    Controversial Exp. with MDA, Guam

Update John and Paula departed Guam over a year ago,and GTDS is now operated my a Japanese investor. The focus now seems to be almost all on the Japanese tourist market. Going forward, I am in charge of the retail operations at MDA, and I guarantee that our customers are not being...

My first night dive in macro

The corrected shots look great. When I shoot macro, I set the shutter speed to its fastest sync speed, unless I am able to position the camera so that the subject can be photographed with a blue background. i.e. "trying to produce some artsy effect" On night dive macro I always set the...

My first night dive in macro

Nice shots. for the real close stuff such as the first image you may want to use a higher F stop to increase the DOF. In addition, adjusting the White Balance will reduce the reddish color cast. I attached a copy of one of the images that I adjusted simply by setting a neutral point...

Attention Aquatica D70/20D owners-viewfinder retrofit available

In a nut shell it get your face away from the housing and provides a larger view a big improvement on the D70 and 20D "peep hole". Tim tested the D200, and liked it so much he sold his 20Ds and went back to Nikon. now I have both a 20D and the D70 and will futz with them for awhile and decide...

    R 190 or R 295 ?

As DM Jim statedThe R190 and R295 ar ecactly the same internally except for the diaphram. The 190 is more durable due to the hard diaphram cover and possi ble may breath easier due to the larger diaphram. The R295 has been replaced the the R395, just a different cover. Your Scubapro source...

    MK25/S6500 v. B2

I work as a buyer for a Scubapro distributor far Micronesia I do not think the S600 will be replaced soon, at least not untill 2008. is so it may just be a new version based on the thoughts of some folks who only want to change the way it looks. kinda like the R390/R295/R395 progression, All...

    MK25/S6500 v. B2

The Atomic 1st stages are almost identical to the MK25. The Atomic folks have Scubapro roots;-) Consider getting the S600 instead of the 650. The thing breaths like silk. Atomic makes wonderful gear but it is a bit overpriced!

Nikon D70s Camera Housing???Expierence with yours?

Ikelite, Aquatica,Subal,Nexus,- ALL good! in general SLR housings are much less likely to flood than the little floaty clamshell point and shoot housings. for point and shoot - Ikelite is the ONLY way to go!

Another Ebay Mishap - Ikelite Substrobe 50 (Orange - not DS-50)

The controllers will not work with the non digital strobes such as the one you have. choice resell it or get a SLR and use it in manual mode;-) being the dinosaur I am, I still use these orange flashy things!

    Pixtreme flash

One note- the downfall of both the camera and strobe is that they only use 2 AAA batteries. this results in slow recycle times and limited use. buy hey! its a $100 UW camera! CB

    Pixtreme flash

The PX2 and the new flash have been greatly improved. The flash has 3 preflash settings, 3 power settings and comes with 3 diffusers. the optional fiber optic cable is a must since without it the cameras internal flash will still create backstatter. the cheapest and most useful accessory...
