    Hello again

Just returning to the diving scene after a few years off. Also, I've relocated to Seattle from Vancouver -- so looking forward to discovering some of the local sites.

Cardiac Arrest - Whytecliff, Vancouver, BC

News1130 - ALL NEWS RADIO. The group I was with arrived at the site just as EMS arrived, and left shortly after the emergency helicopter departed. I don't know any other confirmed details.

    Happy Customer Here

Earlier this fall, my Versa Pro flooded and died while on a dive. Now, I knew it was under recall - but I had been diving on it anyways. I called Oceanic, gave them details on the flood, confirmed my serial ## was under recall, got my RMA, and within 7 days I had it back. Thanks for the...

    Condolences for Daniel; Nanaimo 11/24/07

This. I know that sending a random internet guy a request might feel strange, but if there's anything that I can do to help either the family or yourself wedivebc, please send a PM. I'm Vancouver based. :(

    Cates Park Satuday report

A good 25ft visibility... found the "jungle gym" on our first try. I'd never found it before. Lots of jellyfish, nudibranchs, and ling cod everywhere. Hundreds of dock shrimp, too. Mainly just reporting the unusually clear conditions for the site....

Diving at Cates Park - Restrictions?

Was just wasting time at work, and stumbled on this: http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/scubadiving/dive.htm#Indian%20Arm Is this true? I'd never heard that before. Then again, my first time to Cates park was only last week... I was thinking I'd go back, but this sounds like a hassle.

    I'm back in Vancouver...

I used to have an account here as 'gchapman', but I moved email and have since lost access to the account. I'm back in Vancouver again after an extended work absence, so I thought I'd re-introduce myself. If anyone wants to go for some dives around the lower mainland, drop me a message. I'm...

    Vancouver Area Regular Dives

Here's an idea for a new Sticky in this forum. We should have a standing list of all the regularily scheduled weekly dives run by various shops or clubs throughout the area. I know of a few people who have been visiting the area over the past few weeks but haven't found a semi-up-to-date list...

    Whytecliff on the 20th?

Is anyone up for a few dives and meeting a new buddy on the Sunday the 20th at Whytecliff? I could also drive up to Porteau, if that opens the pool of candidates up a little bit. I'm keen on building up a pool of buddy divers - its not fun being all excited to go diving but not having...

    Delayed return...

After several months of no diving because of an insane work schedule, I'm now on sabaitcal and easing myself slowing back into a dive routine. I posted a few times here when I discovered the site before I had to disappear - but now I'm back and hope to be active in the community... -- greg

    Oceanic BCD Recall

I got an email from Oceanic this afternoon -- and thought I should pass it on in case anyone else hasn't registered their Oceanic equipment online, or perhaps picked the equipment second-hand. Greg

    Canadians/Cuba

Is anyone aware of any Canadian operated dive tours doing business in Cuba? I'd like to head down there this year -- since I'm allowed to -- but I haven't seen any dive packages advertised. I imagine that's mainly because most of the dive press I've read is American. Surely there's enough...

    Full Face Masks

I was reading a review in Sport Diver about a Buddy Phone system that lets you talk underwater when mated to a full face diving mask -- pretty nifty. This got me thinking though to the safety of such a system -- how would one buddy breathe if they have a casualty on their second stage on such...

    Hello...

Hello... just signing on. I am a certified open water diver, but I haven't been in the water in 7 years... so in the interest of not killing myself, I started redoing my Open Water last night here in Vancouver, BC. Anyways... Hello. :)
