We were out on the water in the area at the time of the incident and heard over the radio. The Sea Lion indicated the diver had just entered the water and had not yet descended when the incident occurred.

The Independence II has gotten out the past two Saturday's and is looking to continue this fine spring diving... This coming Saturday, April 21st, we have a group that wants to head out to the STOLT DAGALI (130 fsw), so that is the plan. There are only a couple spots left, so don't wait too...

Facts in the posted article are accurate. Diver was kept overnight in the hospital for observation and is otherwise fine. It was the quick actions of his 15 year old daughter that saved his life. It was rebreather related.
