thanks to all ... I think it should be alright as some reefs ive been searching are not too deep either and people are quite flexible in case i want to stop for a few days.

my instructor did it to me too ... of course, i panicked and had to go to the surface . I think little things like this , the ones you dont expect, are useful while in the course ... know i will always remember that moment and go straight to my buddy's

i can imagine this could be another question for disagreement?:D i wanted to do some reef conservation end of next year after i have some more dives. My worry was that they usually do two or three dives per day, possibly two weeks in my case, so i dont know how my body would react to so many...

is there any problem to only use a belt ? i guess if i carry some in BCD pockets , in an emergency i could drop the belt but still make some kind of controlled ascend? as i still have weights on BCD. Is this correct?

right , i must say after reading answers in my own thread and reading lots since i did my OW > depending on your instructor or what you want to get from your OW , you may not exactly know everything about diving after it. The OW is great to get the confidence and basics you need to dive...

hmmm ... ok , if you put it that way... you make it sound a lot easier ! im capable of setting up equipment, do all checks, control buoyancy, etc . i know when to ascend and how but i didnt have the possibility of talking with my buddy to see how long we are down for, when to finish the dive ...

I mean Ive seen people diving at resorts who went to open sea, dive in the same places as I did and werent taking part in any course. I dont think those people knew how to plan a dive ? Anyway, Im planning a trip to Tenerife or Mallorca in September as I havent been diving since I did the OW...

so what about divers that are not certified but have been diving many many times ? im lost ... i thought if you are not taking courses you can still dive ? i guess they wont explain how to plan a dive if you wont take any course but you can still dive ?

ok im not exactly getting aeropilots way but i do get the " shut your nose" thing ... it does work if you try to close your nose holes ( sorry my english is not great)like trying to smell something under your nose . I know , its hard to explain these things here ! but breathing out through nose...

i did it in the caribbean and diving in northern europe is not what im looking for right now. i spoke with some english divers and i prefer to wait until i have more dives on my back . I am not saying that i will not care about anything and just go with the DM, its only that takes ME time to...

to be honest i dont know why my question caused so much irritation ! it was just an hypothetical case because im curious and i will try to avoid. i really appreciate all answers, from all of you but seems like all the ones who answered are instructors or have more than 100 dives ... no offence...

i think people doing the OW dont really think about tech things like this and there isnt enough time for this type of information, its only 3 / 4 days to do the OW so you dont really expect to know everything. The person who liked it and knows the basic etc will continue asking and getting...

well i know the basics to dive ... but i dont think many OW divers know much about what i asked ... even the padi elearning doesnt say much about what i asked , keeping in mind that i still havent done dives with a dive computer or dive table i think i did it just fine ! :D it was just the OW...
