    White Lotus in Thailand

The new season 3 of White Lotus is set in Thailand. I'm really happy for that; Thailand is a beautiful country with friendly people, and well worth visiting for both diving & exploration, and they definitely deserve the attention. But I'm concerned if this going to lead to an explosion of...

    Sending $ to USA

For Wise, afaik, no. I've sent to banks in Europe & Asia, no recipient has been charged inbound fees.

    Sending $ to USA

One note of caution -- PayPal will ask whether you want to use PayPal's conversion service or your card issuer's conversion. I found PayPal's conversion rates atrocious (somewhere around 4.5% for USD-CAD). If your credit card provides no fee on foreign transactions, use your credit card's rate...

    Ko Tao / Ko Samui

Most boats from Koh Samui will bring you to the same Koh Tao dive sites. You're better off staying in Koh Tao to cut down on boat travel time (< 20 min for most sites, vs 1+ hr from Koh Samui). Sail Rock & Chumphon Pinnacle are truly fascinating. They are both much further out, about 1-1.5 hour...

Question Suunto D5 still lock out?

It's interesting, I believe Suunto's are the most widely used rental fleet computers. I have a vague recollection about hearing there exists an easier mechanism for an LDS to reset the tissue loadings (before they rent it out to the next diver).

    Deep Into Deco Pre-order

Hi @Red Sea Shadow. I realize this is a bit of a dated thread, but I was trying to procure the ebook version. Is it no longer available? I see only print copies on Best Pub / Amazon.

    Phuket in Early July

Koh Tao is certainly much drier, though it is sees some drizzles. They recently added two artificial wrecks, which along with the Sattakut should be pretty nice. The reef diving is less exciting though.

    Scuba pro pilot issue

Agree with the above. You can also replace the corrugated hose & plain elbow for about $10-15 each. The elbow might have a specific thread size you need to match, if you post pictures, can provide you specific products to look at.

My LDS an authorized aqualung dealer has said things about the legend series that kind of breaks my trust with them. Is this information accurate?

These forums are a (the?) primary place to discuss scuba (and reddit to a smaller degree). That being said, it's unlikely. Most businesses are more concerned about reviews on regular social media than scubaboard.

Air Integrated Wrist Computers in the US

This is great, @scubadada, thanks for compiling this. One more computer for your list -- Oceanic VTX. It has color screen, AI, runs DSAT/PZ+, and is comparable in price to the other Oceanic DC's.

Not sure about a dubbed version, but it has English subtitles.

New movie out this weekend--The Dive

Indeed, there was a Swedish/Norwegian movie, Breaking Surface, with a very similar plot and with more stunning visual scenery. I think I would rather see that one! https://m.imdb.com/title/tt10081762

First time heading to Indonesia - Where do you suggest?

I'm thinking of to heading to Thailand & Indonesia next month, and spending Sept./Oct. there. I was in Koh Tao last year, loved how low-key and friendly it was. Strongly considering going back there. The diving was slightly less exciting, but sounds like the other coast of Thailand is still in...

MK19 Evo -- Not available in DIN with G260?

Putting together a doubles kit with MK19 + G260. ScubaPro's website does not offer it in the DIN configuration (nor does Scuba.com). Is this... some subtle way for ScubaPro to pressure folks to buy the MK25 instead? Is the D420 a worthy replacement choice in lieu of the G260? See Scuba.com is...

Why is my IP address blocked??

Hello! Having the same IP address ban problem. I'm visiting family overseas, and I can't access SB on the WiFi connection (static IP). Is there any chance you can whitelist my specific IP?

    Can you stretch a wetsuit?

If it's just a little tight, you can get neoprene to stretch out. I've stretched a tight hood by sticking a soccer ball in it. You can stretch the neck area by sticking it over a hard round surface, like a cylinder. Leave it for a couple days. It will only stretch a certain amount though. If...

Good mid level computers for vacation divers?

Shearwater customer service is second to none. My girlfriend's Peregrine had a depth sensor problem, they shipped her a loaner computer while hers was being worked on, covered shipping both ways. I've bought used Shearwaters from other users here, knowing that Shearwater is exceptionally helpful...

    Anti ScubaPro bias?

Yep. That, and, when I was starting out and buying my first set of gear, their marketing byline was strangely reassuring. ("Deep down you want the best.") In my defense, I didn't know any better!
