I have had 3 canons and never had the E-18 error. I don't think i ever had a camera error before.
I can only recommend the A620. I'm happy with mine!

Hmmm, that's the first error I've heard about from this camera...and it isn't really "hearing about it" first hand.

I'm sure that every camera has a dud or two - maybe check out www.dpreview.com and see if there is any mention there. www.steves-digicams.com is also very good.

All those I know with this camera are very happy indeed.

I've had my a620 since Oct 05 and not had a problem with it. Could just be a bad batch, that happens once in a while.

I also have had the A620 since October and been shooting a lot, topside and underwater...no problems with errors.

Ditto, i've got the A610 been shooting topside and underwater.
I've shot over 2100 pics with it and no problems.

Knock on wood......... :).

I have a620 too for a couple of months and so far no problem. Sounds like maybe that camera had a bad chip or something. Unless there's lots of reports about it, I wouldn't worry about it myself.

If there are lots of reports, please post the info

Just bought the A610 the smaller brother to the A620 a couple of weeks ago. Great camera so far but still need to play around with the settings.

Planning to get the Sealife SL960D strobe...anybody using it? suggestions?

Thanx!
