Only the AL tanks made before 1989 by Luxfer were SUPPOSEDLY prone to rupturing.

There were other AL tanks from that era, not just by Luxfer, that were made from the same alloy with the same problem, but they were all ALUMINUM.
 
Physically, its about the same size as an AL80. Then its also coded with: I G 79 +

It is not I G 79+

It is 1 (January) followed by a L in a C (Cochran Labs did the first hydro) 79 (1979), + (allowed to be filled 10% above service pressure, 2250 psi + 10% overfill = 2475 psi

71.2 cubic feet at 2475 psi.

March 1984 was the second hydro 5 years after the first
