I have a little 2 dive calc program, is there anyone that would take a look at it?
it is not ready 100% yet. I am hoping to issue it as free ware.

I am looking for input and feedback. It is a VB program so you may need to have a run time installed if you don't have win 98SE or higher.

I am willing to share source code to anyone interested, VB6.0 to be exact.

second question
first dive is to 100 feet on 36% nitrox
Second dive on AIR to 90 feet.

because the EAD of the first dive is 74 feet is this breaking the dive the deepest dive first rule?

right now my calc assumes both air or both nitrox.
I was thinking about this, you are really at 4 atm but the partial pressure of nitrogen will be less.

thank you for your time and have a good day
I wont post it until I know if it is OK to put that stuff up on this board.

Dear badgers:

1. People have reexamined the deepest-first rule and do not seem to be convinced that it is a problem.

2. You are more than welcome to post your deco planner.

I would love to see it. I am currently working on one in C++. I don't know vb, but i bet i could pick my way through it. Mine does Air only right now, and i am in the process of adding multiple deco gases, He, etc.

Good luck in your prog.

do you think that I need to get Padi permission before releasing it to people?
VB is easy, I will post the source code on my web site tonight.

I am not including deco stops other then the safety stop.
I was targeting what I thought to be the average user.

given depth and time calc min surf interval
or given depth and surf interval max bottom time

also it calcs best mix in either case.

Do you think that a Palm pilot version would be practical?

I don't know how to make a program for a palm

thank you for your time and have a good day

attached is the program
Simple rules:
after each calc you must hit clear!
for one dive just enter the depth and hit enter.
the program will calc the max bottom time.

2 dives:
enter depths and times and the program will calc min surface interval.
enter 1st depth, 1st bottom time, then enter surface interval in
(HH:MM) and then enter second dive depth.
program will calc max bottom time for second dive.

if you click the nitrox box the program will calc best mix first then do the above.
here is the source code:

if you get an error trying to run the program post back. VB needs some runtime files(.dll)

If you have Win98SE and above you should be fine.
I can make a simple non invasive installer if you have trouble.
