Definitely chose a camera that has double frame rate
In terms of choosing how to shoot I use 50/60p when I shoot macro and super macro as I may need to slow motion and 24/25/30p for wide angle
In practice though you don't want to keep changing format as it makes it confusing for the workflow
So you choose the prevailing format for the trip I.e you go to a big fish or wreck destination you shoot single you go muck diving you shoot double
Contrary to what many people think fish actually moves quite slowly so there is no need for double frame rate to have smooth footage
Smooth footage comes from steady hands and good buoyancy while shooting
