5050 in slave mode

I was wondering if anyone had used the slave mode for a flash with this camera.

I've tried to set the camera to slave - but it doesn't want to go there. I've been through the manual - but that doesn't help.

I was hoping someone here might have some input.

I have a 5050 but not sure of the particulars in this case. It might be that SLAVE is not available for the mode that you are using. Try a different mode. I usually use manual settings & no problem on SLAVE.

According to the manual, you should be able to use slave in all modes. Make sure you haven't selected red eye reduction, it should work with fill flash, or slow.

Slave mode isn't available in P or S mode, at least not on mine.

Veddy interesting. I've already packed my camera, so I can't try mine. I'll play with it in the keys next week.

BTW...mine stays in Slow1. Double checked with setting at Slow2 with same results... A nd M only.

.....and slave mode is the only way to get the internal flash to work with supermacro.
