Hi,

I made a post in the UW videography. Not sure if this is the right subforum but i thought i'd try both.

I'm new diver and also very new to UW videography. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest good underwater settings.

I have an a6300 and currently not using any video lights.

I dove during the weekend with the settings below, it's ok, but no really as good as i was hoping for.

Meikon Housing
Aperture priority F3.5
underwater AWB

Any help would be appreciated, cause right now, i don't even know if i'm heading the right direction

Why were results not as good as you were hoping? That's not much info for us to provide advice.

underwater AWB

Is AWB - Auto White Balance, a program in the camera? I would not trust and AWB or 'Underwater Mode' to provide reasonable colour. Really you need to be close to the surface and have good light from the Sun or use strobes. As you descend the red light is filtered out and there is really nothing that can 'add' it back.

But as others says what did you see as the issue, taking close-up on F3.5 - focus/depth of field. Again a strobe will let you use a smaller aperture and increase depth of field.
