That is desiccant. You can purchase it in packets at your site or in packets and loose at The Preservation Station.
Desiccant will absorb condensaton and not liquid from a small leak or pooling condensation. Pads will absorb liquid but not condensation.
The advantage of the loose desiccant is that you can determine how much to use based on the space you want to put it in. That means using a piece of nylon stocking or the like.
