Oro-Medonte man suffered medical distress while working: OPP
Tuesday, January 5, 2016 5:37:21 EST PM

Police have identified the man who died Sunday after being pulled from Lake Simcoe.

Robin Clark, 55, of Oro-Medonte Township, was working in the water behind a home at 3 Forrester Rd., off Line 3, when, shortly before 5 p.m., he suffered medical distress.

Simcoe County paramedics, OPP officers and firefighters were called to the scene, where they attended to Clark and a couple of residents who had jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue Clark.

Clark was attempting to repair a submerged water pipe when he suffered a medical problem.

When emergency services were unable to revive Clark, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem completed at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto determined drowning was the cause of death.

The two people who had attempted to rescue Clark were assessed for mild hypothermia, but no serious injuries were reported.

Neighbours said Clark was a quiet man who used to do some work in the water building docks and mostly kept to himself.

Is there anything indicating that he was one scuba? Did I misread the article? Initially this sounds like he may have just been in the water working on something, not necessarily diving.

The article does not say that he was on SCUBA, but we know that he was on SCUBA. There are few other confirmed details at this time.
