First pool session with a Halcyon SS BP Explorer 55 lbs. and twin E8 130s on Saturday. It went reasonably well I thought. I did not seem to have trouble managing the tanks, but I was having problems with trim. My instructor said that my body was flat from my head to my bum, but then my legs dipped down from my hips to the knees, and then my knees were flexed. I want to be flat all the way from my head to my knees with my knees flexed for an efficient frog kick.
The other problem that I noticed was that every time I tried to lift my thighs to straighten them out at the hips, I went head down. I instructor wondered if when trying to lift my hips to be parallel with my body that I was doing it by trying to tilt head down.
I was not wearing any (ditchable) weight, and had no extra weight added anywhere.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Sandy
