Advise for Spearfishing in Sydney NSW

Hi All,

I'm keen to try my hand a spearfishing, It will be my first time and before I do I wonder if any locals here know if I need any special licenses to be able to do it, are there any rules or restrictions that I need to be aware of?.

Also any advice on some good spots where I can get too from the shore would be very helpful.
