Airplane accident in Labuan Bajo

Sounds dramatic? No passengers were badly injured when Transnusa flight strikes 3 cows on runway. One cow was killed, one was badly injured and the other is still missing.

Jebus, the story is indeed true. Sounds like the good ol days at lukla airport (Nepal) when they had to scare away the goats, dzonkoi's and donkey's from the airstrip when a twin otter approached...

Yeah, Aviastar is part of Transnusa (or otherway around?)

No divers on that flight that we know of...but the plane is in Bali and flights are still messed up to and from Labuan Bajo.

And yes, there is a guy that goes out on his scooter and scares away the goats before each flight lands and takes off (our staff house is at the end of the runway). It's hilarious to watch and also to realize there is no fence in much of that area. And many of these flights are jets, not just props!
