I have been looking at the post for replacing early 96" aladin pro batteries, and can not find details on how to take the cover off the unit. I do not believe this is a oil fill unit, so I am going to take the shot at replacing myself.
Was hoping someone could give me a starting point for removing the cover,i.e. small blade thru round bend? flat side? top? bottom? does it hinge? does it completely remove?
I am not a "push til it breaks person" so if someone who has done this, and could offer a key to the castle I may be on my way to having my first dive computer.

Thanks to all this site has me refinishing tanks, changing computer batteries, fabricating weight pockets . :dork2:

BRR,
The Aladin Pro I had was a bit older than yours. It had the battery compartment on the side of the unit. There was a round cap with 2 indentations for a spanner. A wire wrench which fit these indentations came with the battery kit. You could probably make one from a strong paper clip, or you could use an adjustable spanner. The battery was solder-in, but was a simple solder job onto the 2 leads. Battery should be available on ebay..

My Aladin Pro dates back to the late 80's. It opens like the one keyshunter describes. I took the battery to Batteries Plus and they spot welded a lead on a new battery and I was back in business.
