Alexander and Manatee Springs for Solo

Hey, for what it might be worth to those of you diving Alexander. A few weeks ago, a buddy and I were diving there. Across the "bowl" from the entry point, where the water is shallow and filled with vegetation, we saw an approximately 9' alligator resting. We watched him for 15 or 20 minutes. He barely moved the whole time, but was intimidating just the same.

Alexander does allow solo, I can't speak for Manatee.

Unfortunately, state parks allow no solo diving whatsoever. This rule is enforced at all state parks...

I know this was an old post, but I was just searching, I heard solo diving was allowed at Alexander. I need a place to go do a little XR skills practice, and Alexander would be perfect. Nothing like 4' of water to practice bouyancy in doubles. We teach at Alexander, so I'm there routinely (although this is the first time I've tried to go solo), and Alexander is part of the Ocala National Forest, so it's a federal park, not state. I use my federal park pass to get in, just thought I'd add that tidbit for anyone else who finds this post.
