I dive mostly in the north east and have yet to find a suitable undergarment that fits my drysuit. I tried dui various types and find whatever I do either the legs are to bulky and restrict easy movement or the using a thinner one causes my torso to feel the cold. I want to hear from anyone who has used there own put together outfit by using moutain climbing clothing or the likes?

I just use micro fleece underwear from Marks Work Warehouse (Canada)
I only paid $42.00 for both the top and bottoms.I have a Bare CD4 drysuit and have dove in 38 degree water and not been cold.

Try Cabelas.

I dive year'round here in NE also and I'm a self admitted baby when it comes to being cold. I've been comfortable with a set of expedition weight polypropelene undergarments for a first layer with polar fleece 300 for a top layer. I may add a fleece vest for ice diving. For socks I simply wear a couple pairs of wool boot socks.

I use Micro fleece underwear from Costco, a wool sweater and fleece track pants under a DC Trilaminate. It worked fine till the water froze. I have also used cycling tights instead of track pants, the wool ones without zippers.
