Been to Bonaire many times, since I am in Aruba 6 months a year. Its a easy flight, but has doubled, since the covid. Its only 15 min to Cur and then 15 to Bonaire. Its about $320 round trip.
Stayed at a air B&B and was here for 2.5 weeks. Rented a truck from Avis and got the dive package the whole trip. Had some friends and locals to dive with everyday.
There was no current the whole trip. Did dives all around the Island. Half way thru, we had tons of rain about 4 mornings in a row. Then the viz went down, but really was still pretty good. Water temp was 82 the whole time. I think its so easy to shore dive Bonaire. Its awesome. So I have never done a boat dive on Bonaire, so I decided too do a 2 tank dive. I was hoping that both would be on Klien, but the smaller boat with 8 divers said: Change of plans. They went North and the dive was really good, but it was right by Tolo. So I can shore dive that spot. But the second dive was at Klein. So that was also a good dive, Seen a frog fish, Also yesterday was my last dive, Seen a sea Horse and another frog fish. So I had a really great trip, and I will be back for 6 weeks in Jan and Feb. I dove some with a Instructor and Dive Master that I met in Grand Caymans 3 years ago. She has dove all over the World and said, Bonaire has some of the Best diving she has seen. So that is really good to know. I think I will just stick with diving Bonaire. Ate out 4 times. Meze, Joes, Sebastian's, and Rains Fishes. All 4 were GREAT!!! Had lunch 1 time at Between 2 Buns. Also awesome. And if you like the local pistachio's, you have to drive on the road along the ocean that goes to down town. Before you get to the down town, there is a green trailer on the left side. Monday thru Sat, 7 am to about 10:30 or 11. Best on the Island, The cheese is to die for, He makes them fresh when you order them so its 15 to 20 min wait. He has chicken, beef and other sandwiches. I ate here every morning because when I checked into my air B&B, the gas on the stove top did not work. Here the manager come and both tanks were empty. She said she would call the gas company on Monday. Well she said they are busy and will put us down. Well after 2.5 weeks, still no gas. Thats not a good deal for a renter, but there is not much you can do. But I would hope the manager will have that checked out before the next guest arrive. Probably wont stay here anymore. Aruba, here I come!!! Aruba Bob
