Any reasons to use 25/50 FPS over 30/60 FPS?

GoPro manual recommends people in PAL territory to set it to 25/50 fps instead of 30/60 fps, but are there really any reasons to do this if you are shooting UW in HD format, not to be shown on an old PAL only TV?
