I was on another boat on the scene. Apparently someone arrested when getting back on their boat and they were able to save him. Sounds like kudos are in order, but I don't know the details. I only saw the victim's bc/reg/tank rig on the bottom (before we heard about an emergency) as we swam to the manta scene, which was initially pretty creepy.

I would have posted in the incident forum, but thought it would be more likely to be scene by those there in this area.

Aloha to all the fine folks on ScubaBoard. On Wednesday, 8/17, one of our divers motioned to their dive guide, Jeff, that they needed to go up. Jeff escorted him to the ascent line and followed him to the surface. On the surface, he asked the diver if he was ok. The diver felt that something was wrong. Jeff told towed him to the dive ladder...and by the time they got there he was unconscious. They got him on the boat and began CPR. A big MAHALO to Eddie from Breeze Hawaii who hopped on our boat to help. Also, one of our dive guests is a doctor and she helped as well. THANK YOU! By the time they got back to the marina where the ambulance was waiting, he was conscious and talking. WOW! Practice up on your CPR guys...it can save someone's life! It was an apparent heart attack...but I do not know for sure. We're darn proud of Jeff Leicher and his great crew that night, Captain Zack, Scott, Ron, and Chris.
