LOL,

DXing means listening to DISTANCE SIGNALS !

With a proper radio you can listen to Radio station as far away as Tibet !

you can also listen to Amateur Ham radios as far as madagascar !

you can also listen to Utilitiy signals (police, ambulance, airports, military ..... etc.

BUT BEST OF ALL you can listen to all those PIRATE RADIO STATION and CLANDESTINE RADIO (Propaganda & Political !!) Stations !!

check out hte hobby at

If you are looking to get into this hobby the best radio to get is

grundig yatchboy 400 for around $149 from Radio Shack. or the Radio Shack Dx-398 for $89.99 (closeout at radio shack)

Personally, I prefer to CREATE dx!!!

I have a little SONY unit and enjoy listening in on the world now and then. I live next to a hill and would need to run up a serious antenna to DX in style.
