Are backplates and wings not for noobs?

If only those ladders would lock down too (maybe they do, I don't know) - I had my knee banged up pretty good on one of those ladders before (the back of the boat went down, the ladder came up towards me, exactly the opposite of what I was expecting).

This is 6 and one half dozen of the other. lock into place can be just as hard and dangerous as not being locked. You just learn to move with the boat, give when it drops, and go when it lifts...lol. Like trying to stay on a well oiled horse....
