Every year the Arenui runs a number of special cruises, focused on specific creatures or skills.

Join us later in 2012 for a ‘Point + Shoot camera’ photo trip (September)...
- then in 2013 meet the mantas with the Queen of Mantas (March) or join one of two photography trips (June + July).

Plus, we’re already planning ahead for new photo trips in 2014 and 2015 with Mark Strickland...
- so it might seem a long way ahead, but with just 16 guests on our luxury vessel, places are limited and cruises are filling up quickly, which means booking early is perfect!

SPECIAL CRUISES:

GET THE MOST FROM YOUR ‘POINT + SHOOT’ CAMERA WITH LES ARGONAUTS
On both of these trips you will be joined by 2 professional underwater photographers offering tips and advice on improving your underwater images. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the possibilities for underwater photography, especially aimed at ‘point + shoot’ camera capabilities. The photographers from Les Argonauts will be giving insightful workshops and also offering one-to-one sessions for those who would like more assistance. With over twenty years of combined underwater photography and exploration between them, Les Argonaut founders - Michael and Helen - share an unbridled passion for photography, underwater exploration, and marine preservation. MEET THE MANTAS OF RAJA AMPAT WITH DR ANDREA MARSHALL
On this trip, not only do you visit some of the most stunning dive sites in the world - with some of the greatest diversity in terms of coral and fish life – but you’ll also be diving in a great location for manta rays and we have tailored this trip to prioritize opportunities to dive and snorkel with these incredible pelagic creatures. We're delighted that Dr Andrea Marshall (Queen of Mantas) will be offering regular talks for guests on the cruise, sharing her insights and vast experiences of studying and diving with mantas. Andrea’s PhD research, on the population ecology of manta rays, was the first ever doctoral thesis to be completed on these enigmatic animals and her recent discovery of a new giant species of manta ray in 2008 was one of the largest new species to have been described by any scientist in the last 50 years. We are pleased to announce that proceeds from this trip will also be supporting Andrea’s work at The Marine Megafauna Foundation. Find out more about Dr Marshall, her work at the foundation and mantas themselves, at Manta Ray Research « Foundation for the Protection of Marine Megafauna
- 2013 Raja Ampat 11N Manta Cruise: Embark SORONG, 20 March 2013 - Disembark SORONG, 31 March 2013

EXPLORE THE BIODIVERSITY OF KOMODO AND ALOR WITH PASCAL KOBEH
On this trip, join Pascal Kobeh as we explore the rich waters of Komodo and Alor, learning from his skills and experiences as a professional underwater photographer. Komodo dive sites are famous for critters, pelagics and stunning reefs, plus Alor is a hidden gems for unusual and rare finds, making this cruise itinerary packed with great opportunities for keen photographers. Make the most of these moments by getting your best shot, with the help of our onboard pro. Pascal escaped the ‘rat race’ in Paris to become a diving instructor in the Maldives. Turning professional in 1996, he went on to publish several photography books and then in 2005 was the principal photographer on the ‘Oceans’ movie project, which was released in cinemas in 2010. Pascal has won several awards, including the Underwater Festival of Antibes silver award in 1997 and then gold award in 1998, as well as a prize at the 2010 Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. DISCOVER ALOR, RAJA AMPAT AND TRITON BAY WITH MARK STRICKLAND
On these trips, learn from professional underwater photographer Mark Strickland as we take you (and your camera) to visit some of the most photogenic dive sites in the world and meet some of the most unusual creatures in the ocean. Mark's life-long interest in the sea has included over 10,000 dives and careers as lifeguard, boat captain and scuba instructor. His passion for underwater photography has led him to many top dive locales, including Thailand, where he spent 17 years as Cruise Director on a series of liveaboards. An avid marine naturalist, Mark has discovered several nudibranch species. He is co-author and principle photographer for Lonely Planet's award-winning book, "Diving and Snorkeling Thailand", and his work appears in many magazines, books and displays around the world. Currently, Mark leads several dive trips each year to his favourite destinations, while working on a career-spanning large-format pictorial book. DESIGN & STYLE
We offer not just incredible diving in arguably the world’s best dive location, but a truly boutique setting to call home for the duration of your trip. The Arenui is a magnificent Phinisi (a traditional Indonesian wooden sailing vessel) and a work-of-art in itself. She was built with conservation in mind, using 70% recycled wood, and she was designed to give guests a real taste of local culture, with handicrafts and décor from around the Indonesian provinces. Come and experience the beautiful style and hospitality of Indonesia.

SERVICES & FACILITIES
Guests on the Arenui can relax in exceptionally spacious cabins, which far surpass anything one would expect to find on a dive liveaboard. Plus, rather than the typical liveaboard buffets, you will be able to choose from our daily a-la-carte menus. Arenui believes that, even when sailing around remote islands, there's no reason to forego fine dining! After all, a relaxing meal prepared with care and style is the best way to remain full of energy for the next dive! Guests can also enjoy a panoramic view from our skydeck, as we cruise through the islands of Indonesia, and even enjoy a full range of massage and spa treatments onboard.
