August in Oahu (waikiki), shore diving, buddy needed

I will be in Waikiki in vacation from Aug. 19 to Sept 03.
I am looking for a local diver or somenone in vacation to do some shore diving.
The dive charter are too expensive (for me) to go everyday. I may go once or twice, but I will be there for 15 days.............
I will bring my gear, but I will need tanks and weights (I guess I'll rent).
If somebody or a group of divers can let me join, it will be great.
Any "info" or "tips" on how to do this, will be very much appreciated.

Give these guys a call: Kaimana Divers: SCUBA Diving in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, Waikiki, tell 'em "Whitney" referred you, their prices are very fair, and they can set you up for shore dives. If you're renting a car there are some great spots on the NS, but I'd go with someone to show you the area.

It's a bit late now but I would add, subscribe to Living Social, Groupon, and Travel Zoo, all three sites have recently offered basically the same deal: $59 for a two-tank boat dive, with two vouchers allowed per person. Can't beat that.
